    Principal point d’entrée et de sortie de marchandises du territoire, le Grand Port Maritime de la Guadeloupe est un des acteurs économiques incontournable du territoire. Par cette opération, le Grand Port Maritime souhaite continuer sa politique de modernisation, la mise à niveau et l’extension des grandes infrastructures. La modernisation des infrastructures portuaires constitue une priorité du SRIT. Ce qui implique une augmentation des activités liées au trafic de transbordement, un accroissement du trafic fret maritime, l’augmentation dans la zone Caraïbes du passage de très grands navires,… Cette demande de subvention est en fait la suite de l'opération "Accueil des navires de 2800 EVP au port de Jarry" menées sur la précédente programmation.
