Relevant du Territoire à Risque Important d'inondation (TRI) Montauban-Moissac et faisant suite à l'engagement d'élaborer une Stratégie Locale de Gestion du Risque d'Inondation (SLGRI), le groupement constitué par la Communauté d'Agglomération du Grand Montauban, les Communautés de Communes Terres des Confluences, Coteaux et Plaines du Pays Lafrançaisain, Grand Sud Tarn-et-Garonne a décidé d'établir un Programme d'Action et de Prévention des Inondations (PAPI) d'intention, étape préalable à l'élaboration d'un dossier de PAPI et à l'amélioration de la gestion du risque inondation. Parallèlement, le Grand Montauban, réalise une étude de dangers du système d'endiguement de la ville de Montauban afin de contrôler le niveau affiché de protection contre les inondations et, le cas échéant, d'identifier les mesures d'amélioration à prendre.
