Aluetalouden näkökulmasta tehtävässä arvoketjuanalyysissä kuvataan ja arvioidaan laitoshanketta, jossa tavoitteena on bioöljyn tuotanto puubiomassasta (hakkuu- ja korjuutähteet, sahauksen sivutuotteet, energiapuun tyyppinen biomassa) ja siihen liittyvä korkean jalostusasteen biotuotteiden valmistus puun uuteaineista.Bioöljyn tuotantoraaka-aineiden ja käytön osalta pyritään yhteistyöhön paikallisen sahateollisuuden ja energiantuotannon kanssa.Bioöljyn tuotannolle suotuisia tekijöitä ovat puubiomassa pääraaka-aineena (alueelta on raaka-ainetta saatavilla), lopputuotteille löytyvä kasvava kysyntä, teknologian olemassaolo ja varhaiset kokemukset teollisen mittakaavan laitoksista. Uuteaineiden tuotanto muodostaa merkittävän uutuusarvoa omaavan liiketoimintapotentiaalin. (Finnish)
