The project responds to Axis 2 challenge and develops Finland’s largest automotive learning environment into a hub of knowledge and innovation. The project supports the deployment of low-carbon products and technologies in line with the region’s strategic priorities. Education also needs to evolve, as new technologies and the use of renewable energy are modern and future in the automotive industry. In order to invest in low-carbon technologies in the region, related services and know-how must be available. It must therefore respond to the changing needs of working life and equip students to take over new materials and new technologies such as steering systems, information systems, diagnostics, bodywork, coating and connection methods, batteries, electric and hybrid cars. The project will build new demo learning environments, including electric and hybrid vehicles with recharging points, welding and auto-painting simulators, test equipment, tools and software. Learning in new learning environments is cheaper: No waste is generated, no genuine materials are consumed and many mistakes are avoided. They are also exploited by companies in the region. As a result of the project, OSAO’s Haukiputa unit will become a modern and diverse centre of expertise and innovation in the automotive sector. The area’s know-how will be improved and new services will be made possible. (English) | |||||||||||||||
