Przedmiotem projektu jest budowa nowego, kompletnie wyposażonego Punktu Selektywnego Zbierania Odpadów Komunalnych w Gniewie wraz z infrastrukturą towarzyszącą. Prace budowlano-montażowe realizowane będą w trybie „zaprojektuj i wybuduj”. Odrębnie zamówione zostanie wyposażenie PSZOK. Zapewniony zostanie nadzór inwestorski nad całością zadania inwestycyjnego (projektowaniem, budową i dostawą wyposażenia). Przeprowadzone zostaną obowiązkowe działania w zakresie informacji i promocji. W ramach projektu uwzględnione zostały również zadania związane z jego przygotowaniem i zarządzaniem. W ramach cross-financingu (instrumentu elastyczności) zaplanowano działania edukacyjne w zakresie zapobiegania powstawaniu odpadów, właściwego postępowania z odpadami oraz odzysku i recyklingu odpadów. Celem projektu jest zwiększenie efektywności systemu gospodarowania odpadami komunalnymi na terenie Miasta i Gminy Gniew, dla osiągnięcia wymaganych poziomów recyklingu i odzysku odpadów komunalnych.
