Projekt ma na celu rozbudowę w systemie „zaprojektuj i wybuduj” DW224 na odcinku o długości ok. 9,4km - od skrzyżowania z DW222 w m. Godziszewo do węzła „Stanisławie” autostrady A1. W ramach projektu zostanie poszerzona jezdnia drogi 224, a jej konstrukcja zostanie wzmocniona. Skorygowane zostaną łuki pionowe i poziome. Przebudowane zostaną skrzyżowania, a na całym odcinku zostanie wybudowany ciąg obsługujący ruch pieszy i rowerowy. Realizacja projektu spowoduje poprawę bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego, przyczyni się do zmniejszenia ilości kolizji i wypadków, usprawni ruch, poprawi komfort podróżowania drogą i ułatwi powiązanie drogi wojewódzkiej nr 222 z autostradą A1 oraz z Tczewem i z Trójmiastem. Droga wojewódzka nr 224 stanie się alternatywą dla nasilającego się natężenia ruchu tranzytowego i dużej części ruchu źródłowo-celowego skierowanego na dojazd do autostrady A1. Realizacja projektu przyczyni się do skrócenia czasu podróży oraz do zwiększenia mobilności społeczeństwa. (Polish)
