Le projet concerne la rénovation énergétique de l'école élémentaire Marlioz à Aix-les-Bains. Datant de 1959, le batiment qui abrite l’école élémentaire est le seul du groupe scolaire qui n’a pas fait l’objet de rénovation. Ce bâtiment présente des caractéristiques thermiques très médiocres et ne répond pas aux normes, notamment en termes d'accessibilité. L'objectif est donc d'engager une rénovation énergétique globale du bâtiment afin d'atteindre le niveau BBC rénovation. La rénovation énergétique de l'école élémentaire Marlioz s'inscrit dans un projet plus large de requalification urbaine du quartier Marlioz qui a été retenu parmi les programmes de renouvellement urbain d'intérêt régional (PRIR) définis par l'Etat et la Région (volet territorial du Contrat de Plan Etat-Région ou CPER).
