Ce projet de structuration d’une filière « coton / fibres naturelles » en Lorraine permet de viser 5 objectifs principaux, à savoir : 1. Développement de la fibre d’ortie en substitution ou en mélange avec du coton pour l’obtention de caractéristiques similaires : texture, pouvoir absorbant, isolant, etc.… ; 2. Recherche et adaptation des outils de production actuels à cette nouvelle fibre ; 3. Recherche de moyens de traitement des fibres respectueux de l’environnement pour obtenir des fibres comparables au coton ; 4. Redynamiser le tissu économique vosgien voire lorrain dans le secteur du textile : savoir-faire ancien – présence d’outil de production ; 5. Contribuer à réduire la dépendance européenne en approvisionnement de matières premières (French)

This project for the structuring of a cotton/natural fibre sector in Lorraine aims at 5 main objectives, namely: 1. Development of nettle fibre in substitution or blending with cotton to obtain similar characteristics: texture, absorbent, insulating, etc.; 2. Research and adaptation of current production tools to this new fibre; 3. Finding ways to treat environmentally friendly fibres to produce fibres comparable to cotton; 4. Reinvigorating the economic fabric of Vosges or even Lorraine in the textile sector: old know-how — presence of production tool; 5. Helping to reduce Europe’s dependence on raw materials supply (English)
