Cette opération d’arasement complet du seuil du Pont des Chemins de Fer de Provence, localisé sur la rivière Bléone, dans la commune de Digne-les-Bains, vise le rétablissement de la continuité sédimentaire et biologique ; l’opération est inscrite dans un programme d’intervention sur quatre seuils de cette rivière (« programme de travaux visant au rétablissement des continuités écologiques sur la Bléone »). L’opération intègre aussi les mesures dites « d’accompagnement », c’est-à-dire d’une part les travaux rendus nécessaires par la disparition du seuil et les conséquences attendues sur l’évolution du fond du lit de la rivière (consolidation des deux piles du Pont ferroviaire et réfection des pieds de digues) et d’autre part les mesures de réduction des impacts environnementaux.
