The activity of this site is the reuse, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). _**_EEA and WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment_**_ _Electrical and electronic equipment includes all objects or components of objects that operate by means of electric or electromagnetic currents whether these currents are supplied by connection to a socket or through cells or batteries. (...) They are present in homes (television, kitchen robot), workplaces (computer, telephone), vehicles (autoradio) or simply in pockets (mobile phones, cameras)... These are for example large household appliances (refrigerator, stove, washing machine), small household appliances (sraser, coffee machine, toaster), computer and telecommunications equipment (computer, game console, walker), consumer equipment (radio, television, computer and digital toys and cables, DVD player, VCR, alarm clock), electrical and electronic tools (drill, mower)._ _An EEA becomes a WEEE when its owner has abandoned it or intended it to be abandoned because it no longer has its usefulness. In a company where the level of equipment is increasing and products are very quickly obsolete with the rapid evolution of technologies, WEEE amounts increase from 3 to 5 % per year. Every year the French produce 1.7 million tonnes of WEEE. More than 50 % of this waste comes from households, which represents 14Kb/hab./year and within 10 years, its volume should have doubled.__ As with other types of waste, WEEE can be classified according to their origins (professional or household), their congestion (less than or above 30 Kg) or their composition. In addition to metals and plastics, WEEE may contain products that are harmful to health, such as cadmium, lead, mercury, refrigerants or asbestos. It is for this reason that the European Union decided in 2003 to introduce regulations to ensure the recovery of these pollutants and to limit damage to health and the environment. www.actu-environnement.com_ _WEEE can be grouped into three main categories:_ _\- blank: refrigerators, washing machines and other large appliances_ _\- brown: audiovisual material_ _\- grey: office and IT equipment_ the mission of this site is based on different operations such as: * _Collecting D3Es in companies, administrations and individuals_ * _Reference, sorting and production of BSD (waste tracking line)_ * _Test of the material collected_ * _Recycling of equipment_: we repair and upgrade the equipment that may be * _Recycling_: obsolete material is sorted and sent for recycling in the different channels (depending on the type of waste) in accordance with the environment * _Sales_: we offer the equipment upgraded for sale In the context of the above-mentioned activities, the aim of the site is to accompany 14 participants (10.4 FTEs) who encounter particular difficulties of social and professional integration from the conclusion of Contracts with Determined Term of Insertion (CDDI). These participants benefit from individualised support, together with additional training (technical training related to handling, gestures and postures, transmission of know-being and know-how useful for integration into a company, hygiene and safety, labour legislation and computer literacy) in order to facilitate their access to employment or training. (French)
