This project, co-led by the Greater East Region and the State (SGARE Grand Est) aims to set up a web platform dedicated to geographic information on the Great East, called “GeoGrandEst Digital Platform”. Information, particularly through its geographical component, is an indispensable resource for the knowledge and management of the territories and for the monitoring and evaluation of public policies. Through its cross-cutting approach, this information is an undeniable decision-making tool, but also a tool for communication and modernisation of public action. The Region and the State have been working together since 2015 to set up a Geographic Data Infrastructure (GDI) at the Great East level, building on existing dynamics. This partnership, called GeoGrandEst, aims to: *promoting the knowledge, sharing, exchange, dissemination and re-use of geographical data, *mutualise technical, financial and human resources for the sake of economy and encourage the sharing of experiences, *organise the production of geographical information in order to respond effectively to the regulations in force (in particular the European INSPIRE Directive of 14/03/07 and Law n°2015-991 of 7 August 2015 known as the “Notre Law”.
