The development of nosocomial diseases and the multiplication of multi-drug-resistant bacteria are causing increasing mortality. Bacterial or viral epidemic peaks cause economic losses (cost of absenteeism and care). In addition, the ageing of the population is a major societal issue, especially if it is considered from a health point of view (more fragile people). To reduce the risk of contamination, BRONZE INDUSTRIEL, a company specialising in the design, production and marketing of technical copper alloys, has developed, through research programmes in recent years, a range of door handles, ramps and holding bar in antimicrobial copper called “Steriall”. These products have already been installed in 4 EHPADs and one MARPA and are currently being studied to demonstrate the contribution of copper installations to contamination of the surfaces of an equipped building and the health of residents. The aim of the CUPROCARE project is, in parallel to this study, to master the aesthetic and antimicrobial qualities of the products of the “Steriall” range over time. It must result in the placing on the market of a global solution including the copper product but also its method of maintenance and regeneration. (English) | |||||||||||||||

(French)
