Le projet NanoMedesil vise à exploiter les propriétés particulières du silicium poreux, qui est l'un des rares nanomatériaux bio résorbable et non toxique, afin d'élaborer des systèmes utilisables en imagerie médicale, en thérapie anti-tumorale ciblée et pour la régénération tissulaire dans le traitement du cancer. Ce projet s'appuie sur une démarche de recherche innovante et est susceptible de générer une innovation de produit, à travers l'application clinique des nano-outils thérapeutiques développés au niveau préclinique et l'élaboration d'un nouveau produit médical avancé.
