The project consists of the development of the R & D infrastructure of the Consortium, consisting of three public research units of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region with a high scientific and research potential (the University of Technology and the University of Technology and Bydgoszcz, the leader of the consortium, the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń and the University of Kazimierz Grand), which consists of the purchase of the necessary equipment for research laboratories and the construction works involved. As a result of the project, a new structure will be created, including the Wielkopolska Centre for Structural Research (CBSS), the Laboratory of Functional Sub-Systems (LBPF) and the Inter-university Interdisciplinary Centre for KETs (MIC-KETs), which will create 11 test laboratories within 6 scientific units (Departments) 3. The aim of the project is to improve the quality and expansion (by the end of March 2021) of the possibility to carry out high-quality research, as defined in the Research Agenda, including implementation studies, aimed at increasing the cooperation of scientific bodies with businesses and, therefore, developing the economy of the region. All planned activities and types of research, from key technology area (s) KETs), including: advanced manufacturing, microelectrics, nanotechnology, materials and track-based modes, including rolling stock and selected infrastructure components, including IT systems, are part of the development of the National Research Programme and in the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy for the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region and are of strategic importance for the development of science and the economy in the region.
