Das Ziel dieses Demonstrationsvorhabens ist es zwei Dieselbusfahrzeuge als Pilotbusse auf einen batterieelektrischen Antrieb umzurüsten und damit Umstieg auf batterieeleketrische Busse im öffentlichen Nahverkehr zu einem geringeren Preis und deutlich schneller als bei der Anschaffung neuer E-Busfahrzeuge zu ermöglichen. Das erwartete Vorhabensergebnis wird insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund des Engpasses bei der Produktion neuer E-Busse eine ökonomische und ökologische Alternative zur Einführung der Elektromobilität im ÖPNV zulassen.
