Projekt ma na celu budowę drogi ekspresowej S8 na odcinku od węzła „Marki” do węzła „Radzymin Płd.” o całkowitej długości 15,369 km. Na całym odcinku projektowanej drogi ekspresowej przewidziano przekrój drogowy dwujezdniowy z trzema pasami ruchu oraz pasem awaryjnym i pasem dzielącym. Przebieg projektowanej drogi ekspresowej S8 rozpoczyna się w mieście Marki tuż przy granicy z Warszawą, skąd biegnie wzdłuż granicy miasta Ząbki do miasta Zielonka. Następnie projektowana trasa biegnie w kierunku północnym przechodząc przez obszar miasta Kobyłka, miasta i gminy Radzymin oraz miasta i gminy Wołomin by zakończyć przebieg ponownie w Radzyminie.
