The aim of the project is to undertake industrial research and development work on the development of innovative manufacturing technology for PVC composite products for the manufacture of cables or other PVC products for use in construction, in line with the objectives of thematic area III.The ultimate objective of the project will be to achieve the applicant’s competitive advantage on its domestic and international markets by proposing mineral fillers that enhance the fire performance of the PVC product.In the condition of the fire, the mineral excipients forming part of the surface of the hard layer shall prevent the penetration of the flame into the product surface on the surface of the product and, on the other, the supply of PVC distribution products outside of the product, mainly hydrogen chloride.This technology has so far been used for silicone rubber composites, but there is no information on the implementation of this technology for PVC composites.For this reason, it is necessary to carry out a research and implementation work in order to check whether and how it will be possible to use such additives in the PVC matrix and how their impact on the improvement of the non-flammability performance will be.In the framework of the research work, the mineral fillers and fluxes likely to be used for this purpose will be selected, laboratory tests and pilot samples of the production of composite products, testing of the properties of the products received and the appropriate adjustments to the recipes will be made.Tests will also be carried out on an industrial scale for checking whether there are any negative differences in the process and the parameters of the product at the time of scale transfer from the pilot to industry.In order to achieve the objectives pursued (English)

    Przedmiotem projektu jest podjęcie badań przemysłowych i prac rozwojowych nad opracowaniem innowacyjnej technologii produkcji kompozytów z PVC zawierających mineralne wypełniacze ceramizujące, przeznaczonych do produkcji kabli lub innych wyrobów z PVC mających zastosowanie w budownictwie, zgodnie z założeniami obszaru tematycznego III. Celem nadrzędnym przedsięwzięcia będzie osiągnięcie przewagi konkurencyjnej Wnioskodawcy na rynku krajowym i międzynarodowym poprzez zaproponowanie mineralnych wypełniaczy ceramizujących zwiększających odporność wyrobu z PVC na wysokie temperatury spowodowane pożarem. W warunkach pożaru mineralne wypełniacze ceramizujące tworzą na powierzchni wyrobu twardą warstwę ceramiczną zapobiegającą z jednej strony penetracji płomienia w głąb wyrobu, a z drugiej strony wydostawaniu się na zewnątrz produktów rozkładu PVC, głównie chlorowodoru. Technologia taka została do tej pory zastosowana dla kompozytów z kauczuku silikonowego, natomiast nie ma informacji o wdrożeniu takiej technologii dla kompozytów z PVC. Z tego powodu konieczne jest przeprowadzenie pracy badawczo-wdrożeniowej aby sprawdzić czy i w jaki sposób będzie możliwe zastosowanie tego typu dodatków do matrycy polimerowej z PVC oraz jaki będzie ich wpływ na poprawę parametrów niepalności. W ramach pracy badawczej zostaną wyselekcjonowane wypełniacze mineralne oraz topniki mogące potencjalnie mieć zastosowanie do tego celu, zostaną wykonane laboratoryjne i pilotażowe próby produkcji kompozytu, badania własności otrzymanych wyrobów i stosowna korekta receptur. Zostaną też wykonane próby na instalacji w skali przemysłowej dla sprawdzenia czy przy przeniesieniu skali z pilotowej na przemysłową nie wystąpią jakieś negatywne różnice w procesie i w parametrach produktu.
