The market for smart living applications forms a potential future market with high economic yield potential. The absence of the development of the smart living market into a mass market so far has to be attributed to the high externalities in the form of “increasing returns to adoption”, which significantly impede market development by individual companies. A Hessian cluster can increase the value added in the federal state and integrate the value chain more closely by jointly developing solutions for market barriers. (English)
