Existe neste concelho uma taxa muito elevada de pessoas que não frequentaram ou não concluíram o ensino secundário, assumindo assim de maior importância a criação de cursos EFA. Os fenómenos do insucesso e abandonos escolares apresentam uma expressão local bastante evidente. Os problemas de desemprego e de formação e as dimensões sociais a eles inerentes são uma realidade bastante evidente neste concelho, sobretudo na população menos qualificada (Portuguese)

In this municipality there is a very high rate of people who have not attended or have not completed secondary education, thus assuming the creation of EFA courses of greater importance. The phenomena of failure and school dropout are quite evident locally. The problems of unemployment and training and the social dimensions inherent to them are quite evident in this municipality, especially in the less qualified population. (English)
