El proyecto se justifica por la necesidad de renovar al menos uno de los dos equipos de resonancia Agilent de que dispone la unidad Se trata de substituïr la consola y la sonda del equipo más antiguo Varian MercuryVx400 adquirido en el año 1999, puesto que actualmente no tiene garantizada su reparación, en tanto que las piezas de repuesto se han dejado de fabricar. _x000D_ Nuestro segundo equipo Agilent NMRSYS400 (2007) se encuentra en la misma situación, ya que Agilent ha cerrado la línea de fabricación de espectrómetros de RMN, y no se hace responsable de poder mantener los equipos más allá de 2017._x000D_ Por otra parte, el volumen de trabajo que desarrollan estos dos equipos difícilmente serían asumibles en otros centros del entorno._x000D_ La dotación en el nuevo equipo de un muestreador automático podría absorber parte del exceso de volumen de trabajo si se diese el caso de avería en el NMRSYS400 y no se pudiese reparar._x000D_ _x000D_ Se trata, pues, de evitar la obsolescencia de la Unidad y garantizar el acceso a la espectrometría RMN de los investigadores.
