Se trata de una calle que destaca, por tanto, por su valor histórico y cultural, que además sigue sirviendo desde la época romana hasta la actualidad, como arteria principal de comunicación entre el centro histórico y el contorno fluvial, dando salida a la ciudad posteriormente a través del puente romano existente sobre el Río Miño. _x000D_ En la actualidad, por esta calle circulan tanto peatones, como vehículos motorizados y ciclistas. Teniendo en cuenta que forma parte del Camino Primitivo de Santiago, abunda la circulación de peregrinos y turistas que visitan la ciudad. _x000D_ Se trata de una calle estrecha, con pavimento peatonal en mal estado debido al mal estado del colector de saneamiento en alguna zona, así como al paso continuo de vehículos_x000D_ Con esta operación se pretende eliminar el tráfico de vehículos motorizados en esa calle, y poner en valor esta parte del trazado del Camino Primitivo, con las siguientes actuaciones:_x000D_ - Reposición de pavimento y de los servicios deteriorados._x000D_ - Soterrar el cableado aéreo y anclado a las fachadas. _x000D_ - Cumplimiento de materia de accesibilidad._x000D_ - Acondicionamiento de los dos pasos inferiores existentes: iluminación, reparación de superficies vistas y tapado del cableado.._x000D_ - Humanización: buena iluminación, papeleras, una pequeña zona verde de descanso con algún banco, una fuente, algún árbol y una escultura o aquellos elementos que se consideren más oportunos a lo largo de la fase de redacción del proyecto. _x000D_ - Señalización del Camino de Santiago e información a través de paneles sobre su importancia histórica y cultural.
