Hilaturas MAR, S.L.U. is a small, family-owned Spanish company that was created in 1996 and whose production facilities are located in Bañeres de Mariola (Alicante). MAR spinning is a technical spinning, whose main products are yarns for very diverse industrial applications: filtration of gases and liquids, fillings of electrical cables, food industry, geotextile, friction, packaging, packaging, cleaning, etc. Its activity focuses on the manufacture of thick yarns (from 0.50 Nm to 10 Nm) in the process of spinning friction DREF, a production technique that does not have any other company in our country._x000D_ In this project, HILATURAS MAR addresses the development of new friction yarns composed of recycled p-aramide and other materials to obtain high tenacity technical threads. The first aim is to develop the technology of recycled p-aramide cut fibre yarn with a glass fibre core, so that, later, it can be modified with other technical materials and thus be able to cater, depending on the type of yarn, to the following industrial applications: flame retardant fabric for aviation carpet, “anti-vandal” upholstery fabric, anti-ballistic fabric and friction fabric to brake the positioning system of a wind turbine. In the latter case, in addition to the thread, the fabric will be developed._x000D_ The main difficulties posed by the project lie in the definition of the configuration of each yarn, as well as its composition, lengths, numbering and sieving, the determination of carding characteristics in terms of fittings and working parameters, spinning parameters and fabric composition, as well as weaving and weaving in the case of wind turbine brake fabric._x000D_ The project is considered innovative, not only in the domestic market where it is not spinned by friction, but also in international markets.
