At present, technological developments in this type of energy, based on the use of conventional silicon cells, are not only limited in their cost, but also with technical limitations. As this type of cell captures only a limited area of the electromagnetic spectrum, thus wasting a significant fraction of the incident solar radiation._x000D_ The overall objective of the project is to develop the technology needed to manufacture an Energy-Efficient Electro-active Solar Roof (TSPEEE) for use in electric vehicles. The TSPEEE device to be developed will have the property to generate electricity, regulate transparency and serve as an infrared barrier so that you can reduce the energy consumption of the vehicle, increase its efficiency and extend its autonomy._x000D_ This technology is not currently developed by any company in the automotive sector, and although there are several international consortia working with rival technologies to develop a solar roof with the ability to change the degree of transparency, this development goes beyond the generation of electricity which would mean a very important competitive advantage.
