El objetivo principal del proyecto es la investigación aplicada al desarrollo de un novedoso sistema de control aéreo para rastrear en todo momento la localización de la aeronave y poder monitorizar toda una serie de parámetros sobre su funcionamiento, de manera precisa, accesible y a bajo coste (un ratio de 1 / 100 por debajo de las soluciones actuales)._x000D_ _x000D_ El proyecto que se propone tiene como objetivo integrar, lanzar, poner en órbita y operar un nanosatélite de alrededor de 3 kilos de peso que permita monitorizar el tráfico aéreo mediante la captación de señales de posición ADS-B que emiten los propios aviones._x000D_ _x000D_ Este sistema diseñado por Aistech permitirá la detección de aviones de manera continua en toda la superficie de la Tierra, proporcionando información tanto de zonas que actualmente pueden ser controladas mediante estaciones terrestres como de zonas oscuras (océanos, mares, zonas remotas…); las cuales son de gran importancia para las compañías aéreas, las agencias de seguridad y tráfico aéreo así como los fabricantes de aviones._x000D_ _x000D_ Por otro lado, este sistema permitirá ofrecer datos sobre el posicionamiento a aquellas zonas de la superficie de la Tierra que actualmente cuentan con pocas infraestructuras (o sistemas muy deficientes) de seguimiento del tráfico aéreo como puede ser África, y algunas zonas de Asia y América del Sur._x000D_ _x000D_ Este sistema, además de proporcionar un elevado volumen de datos con una muy alta frecuencia, permitirá una reducción de los costes de seguimiento y control, un incremento de la seguridad aérea y una mayor capacidad y rapidez de respuesta en caso de incidentes o accidentes.
