Equipment is requested to expand and improve the manufacturing and rapid prototyping technologies of the Additive Manufacturing Unit. The proposal consists of two lines, the first to provide a new technology that will allow the Unit to work with the entire range of materials (metal, ceramic compounds and multi-material plastics) and the second to improve the existing equipment for the safety and health of operators and to reduce the cost of producing metal prototypes. In particular, it is requested to: (I) an additive manufacturing equipment with a resolution of 13 micrometers being able to work with more than 100 combinations of composite plastic materials. The incorporation of this technology is key to be able to serve in the group of plastics and elastomers and to cover the three main groups of materials for functional and operational parts; (II) a PX Box equipment for attaching to a direct metal printing machine; the safe recovery and treatment of metal dust is essential for the safety of operators, as they are nanometric particles in suspension; (III) nitrogen generator with 99.999 % purity. Currently the machine inertises its chamber with nitrogen from pressure bottles. The availability of a nitrogen generator would significantly reduce costs, which would have a particular impact on all work carried out by the research groups. (English) | |||||||||||||||

(Spanish)
