Property / summary: Objectives: Develop and validate an application for the use in Smartphone media, as a first phase and evaluate the effect of adding this information and communication technology (ICT) tool to a standardised intervention to increase adherence to the nutritional recommendations of the Mediterranean diet and to increase physical activity, as the main objective of the study. Analyse the adherence and results of the intervention from a gender perspective. Methodology: A clinical trial of two parallel, multicenter, double-blind and randomised groups aimed at assessing the effects of adding an ICT tool, an application developed for Smartphone (intervention), in support of behavioral and educational recommendations (control) in the increase of physical activity and adaptation of diet to the Mediterranean diet pattern. Population: it will include 1215 subjects, under 70 years old from the EVIDENT project who agree to participate. Measurements and Intervention: The exercise with the accelerometer and 7-day PAR and the adaptation to the Mediterranean diet will be assessed with an adherence questionnaire and a food frequency survey. Vascular structure and function will also be evaluated with central blood pressure, Augmentation index, pulse rate, Cardio Ankle Vascular Index and mean carotid intima thickness. The council on adaptation to the Mediterranean diet (based on the PREDIMED project) and exercise (based on the PEPAF project) will be common to both groups. The intervention group will be added the training and use for 3 months of an application on a Smarthphone designed to promote healthy eating and increased physical exercise (English) / rank | |||||||||||||||
