De la aceptación de que el patrimonio cultural, y de modo más específico el patrimonio arquitectónico, debe representar a toda la sociedad del pasado en su integridad histórica, se ha derivado también el reconocimiento progresivo de que el patrimonio debe ser accesible a toda la sociedad del presente. Garantizar el derecho a este acceso tiene una dimensión positiva de alcance indiviual en cuanto que la experiencia del patrimonio puede favorecer el desarrollo personal a través del conocimiento. Por tanto, el Ayuntamiento de Aranjuez quiere poner en valor edificios de valor patrimonial e histórico que posee, así como los espacios públicos incluidos dentro del Conjunto Histórico, el Paisaje Cultural y su zona de amortiguamiento.
