    La necesidad de reducir consumos y emisiones ha derivado en los últimos años en el establecimiento de una legislación cada vez más restrictiva. Esta situación ha obligado al sector de la automoción a buscar materiales alternativos más ligeros que reemplacen a los empleados convencionalmente para reducir el peso de los vehículos. Asimismo, para garantizar su durabilidad y la seguridad del conjunto, estos deben combinar ligereza con excelentes propiedades mecánicas y buena resistencia a la corrosión. En este sentido las aleaciones de aluminio cumplen la mayoría de las características descritas, convirtiéndose en los últimos años en uno de los materiales ligeros de referencia. _x000D_ _x000D_ La presente investigación surge de la necesidad de CIE GALFOR S.A. de proseguir con su estrategia de expansión y crecimiento orientada a la apertura de nuevas líneas de negocio de alto valor añadido que le permitan establecer relaciones comerciales con nuevos clientes e incrementar su cuota de mercado en el sector automoción._x000D_ _x000D_ Se propone así el presente proyecto, considerado de carácter estratégico para CIE Galfor S.A. y para el Grupo CIE Automotive al que pertenece, en el que se dará continuación al anterior Proyecto FORJAL acometido entre los años 2017 y 2019, y en el que se abordará una profunda investigación al respecto de la forja en caliente de la aleación de aluminio 6082 para la generación de componentes estructurales de gran tamaño para el sector de la automoción. El fin de este es alcanzar un pleno conocimiento científico, técnico y operativo en las áreas térmica, metalúrgica, mecánica y electroquímica implicadas en la forja de esta aleación. Se profundizará por ello con total detalle en todos aquellos parámetros, variables y características correspondientes a materias primas, conformado en caliente, tratamientos térmicos y procesos de acabado y control de calidad.
