El objetivo general de este proyecto es el desarrollo de un novedoso proceso para el almacenaje, preparación y comercialización de frutos de tomate tipo cherry, basado en la vida útil estimada de cada lote. Dicha estimación se fundamentará en los datos de firmeza de los frutos, de tal forma que a través del desarrollo de un modelo de crecimiento específico para cada variedad, se conocerá el tiempo de vida comercial restante de cada fruto. Esto posibilitará la toma automática de decisiones relativas a las condiciones de almacenamiento necesarias y el mercado objetivo de cada una de las partidas de tomate, con el fin de asegurar la calidad óptima de los frutos en destino._x000D_ _x000D_ Bajo este enfoque, se va a diseñar una herramienta de gestión PREDICTFIRM que, a través de los datos de firmeza recopilados por los sistemas de clasificación y categorización, permitirá obtener directrices precisas calculadas matemáticamente sobre los procedimientos más óptimos a aplicar durante el almacenaje, transporte y comercialización de los diferentes lotes de productos.
