Introducción: El cuidado basado en la relación tiene como objetivo personalizar el cuidado adaptándolo de manera flexible a las necesidades y circunstancias específicas de cada individuo, con el fin de responder singularmente a cada persona. Esto adquiere mayor relevancia en los pacientes en estado terminal, donde el cuidado dirigido a fomentar la calidad de vida constituye un objetivo prioritario. La relación interpersonal enfermera-paciente es un elemento clave del cuidado personalizado. Objetivo: con este proyecto se pretende comprender el significado que tiene para el paciente la relación interpersonal con el profesional de enfermería e identificar los aspectos clave de la misma. Para ello se parte de la siguiente hipótesis: Una relación interpersonal enfermera-paciente adaptada a las expectativas de la persona con cáncer en fase avanzada y terminal puede facilitar el afrontamiento de esta fase de la enfermedad. Metodología: estudio cualitativo, fenomenología hermenéutica. Población de estudio: Personas adultas con enfermedad oncológica en fase avanzada y terminal que estén en plenas facultades cognitivas y mentales. Ámbito de estudio: Pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Hospitalización Médica de Oncología de la Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Conclusión: Un conocimiento más profundo de lo que es realmente esencial de la relación interpersonal con los pacientes, permitirá que los profesionales los conozcan mejor y les proporcionen cuidados centrados en ellos. The nurse-patient interpersonal relationship is a key element of personalised care. Objective: this project aims to understand the meaning for the patient of the interpersonal relationship with the nursing professional and to identify the key aspects of it. To this end, the following hypothesis is assumed: An interpersonal nurse-patient relationship adapted to the expectations of the person with advanced and terminal cancer can facilitate the coping of this phase of the disease. Methodology: qualitative study, hermeneutic phenomenology. Study population: Adults with advanced and terminal oncological disease who are in full cognitive and mental faculties. Scope of study: Patients admitted to the Oncology Medical Hospitalisation Unit of the University of Navarra Clinic. Conclusion: A deeper understanding of what is really essential of the interpersonal relationship with patients will allow professionals to know them better and provide them with care centered on them.
