El Proyecto EUROPAPAYA se plantea como objetivo general el establecimiento y desarrollo a gran escala de la papaya como un cultivo adicional que permita ampliar la oferta actual de especies hortícolas producidas en los invernaderos del SE español. Para alcanzar el objetivo general del proyecto es necesario abordar una serie de retos relacionados con la adaptación del cultivo a nuestras condiciones, muy alejadas de los requerimientos edafoclimáticos típicamente tropicales de la papaya y la propagación del cultivo, que se acometerán con: _x000D_ _x000D_ - El desarrollo de nuevas estructuras y herramientas de control de clima para el cultivo protegido de papaya en invernadero. _x000D_ - El desarrollo de tecnologías para la propagación vegetativa del cultivo de papaya._x000D_ - El desarrollo de técnicas de control biológico para el cultivo de la papaya en invernadero._x000D_ - El desarrollo y puesta punto del manejo y las técnicas agronómicas necesarias para cultivar con éxito la papaya en invernadero y optimizar su conservación y vida postcosecha._x000D_ _x000D_ Para llevar a cabo el proyecto y afrontar con garantías los diferentes retos que plantea, se ha creado un consorcio sólido y robusto liderado por la empresa Miguel García Sánchez e Hijos S.A., e integrado por GOGARSA S.L., VITALPLANT S.L. y MIP System Agro S.L., que contará con la colaboración la Universidad de Almería, la Fundación Cajamar y el CIDAF. To achieve the overall objective of the project, it is necessary to address a number of challenges related to the adaptation of the crop to our conditions, far removed from the typical tropical edaphoclimatic requirements of papaya and the spread of the crop, which will be undertaken with: _x000D_ _x000D_ — the development of new climate control structures and tools for the protected cultivation of papaya in greenhouse. _x000D_ — the development of technologies for the vegetative propagation of papaya cultivation._x000D_ — The development of biological control techniques for the cultivation of papaya in greenhouses._x000D_ — The development and development of the management and agronomic techniques necessary to successfully cultivate papaya in greenhouses and optimise its conservation and post-harvest life._x000D_ _x000D_ To carry out the project and address with guarantees the different challenges it poses, a solid and robust consortium has been created led by the company Miguel García Sánchez e Hijos S.A., and integrated by GOGARSA S.L., VITALPLANT S.L. and MIP System Agro S.L., which will have the collaboration of the University of Almería, the Cajamar Foundation and CIDAF.
