El objetivo general del proyecto es la obtención de líneas mejoradas de arroz que posean características superiores para tres rasgos deficitarios en las variedades que actualmente se cultivan en las zonas arroceras españolas: rendimiento, toelrancia a Pyricularia y tolerancia al frio en la fase de germinación. Paralelamente, se persigue la caracterización genético-molecular de los variantes de interés con el fin de desarrollar y aplicar herramientas biotecnológicas que incrementen la eficacia y eficiencia del proceso de mejora.
