Esta operación tiene como objeto la rehabilitación del Molino de Xuvia ubicado en la Ría de Ferrol y su puesta en valor a través de su posterior musealización, puesto que además de recuperar un edificio emblemático, se trata de ponerlo al servicio de la ciudadanía y sus potenciales visitantes a través de la creación del Centro de Interpretación de los Molinos Industriales de Xuvia. Se pretende promover la conservación, protección, fomento y desarrollo del patrimonio cultural y natural del área urbana Ferrol-Narón y, al mismo tiempo, potenciar el interés turístico de la zona. El Molino de Xuvia es uno de los máximos exponentes de la historia industrial de Narón, se trata de un complejo fabril del siglo XVIII de gran interés turístico y etnográfico. Se encuentra situado en la desembocadura del río Xuvia, sobre la ría de Ferrol. La rehabilitación del complejo se desarrollará teniendo en cuenta la siguiente división: El molino, se restaura en su estado primitivo, incluyendo los artilugios fabriles de tal modo que puedan mostrarse a los visitantes y que puedan participar de su funcionamiento. Las viviendas se liberan de tabiquería, la planta baja se destina a museo y la parte superior a aulas temáticas, sala de conferencias o exposiciones temporales. El almacén se destinará a recepción de visitantes y contará con una zona de información y exposición, aseos de público y una zona de servicio de personal. El patio será el articulador de todos los espacios, en él se situará el núcleo de comunicaciones principal. El Centro de Interpretación de los Molinos Industriales de Xuvia consistirá en un centro cultural que atenderá cuatro dimensiones principales en relación a la industria: la social, la cultural, la económica, y la de la memoria local. El Plan de marketing pretende acercar el proyecto a la ciudadanía, con diferentes acciones de promoción y divulgación. The aim is to promote the conservation, protection, promotion and development of the cultural and natural heritage of the Ferrol-Narón urban area and, at the same time, to enhance the tourist interest of the area. The Xuvia Mill is one of the greatest exponents of the industrial history of Narón, it is an 18th century manufacturing complex of great tourist and ethnographic interest. It is located at the mouth of the Xuvia River, on the Ferrol estuary. The refurbishment of the complex will take into account the following division: The mill is restored in its primitive state, including manufacturing devices in such a way that they can be shown to visitors and can participate in its operation. The houses are released from partitions, the ground floor is intended for museum and the upper part for themed classrooms, conference room or temporary exhibitions. The warehouse will be intended for visitors’ reception and will have an information and exhibition area, public toilets and a staff service area. The courtyard will be the articulator of all the spaces, in it the main communications nucleus will be located. The Xuvia Industrial Mill Interpretation Centre will consist of a cultural centre that will serve four main dimensions in relation to industry: social, cultural, economic, and local memory. The marketing plan aims to bring the project closer to the public, with different promotion and dissemination actions.
