During the period 2013-2015 and thanks to the support provided by project PI12/01535, we have developed a clinical support application for diabetic retinopathy screening, based on a database of 2,084 diabetic patients. That has allowed us to develop a new screening model based on risk factors by developing a software that is used in primary care, can indicate the risk factor and optimal screening time, achieving a specificity of 98 % and a sensitivity of 52 % In this new phase of the study we will proceed to improve it, increasing the accuracy of the diagnosis improving the sensitivity of the test, and adapting the inclusion of the software in computerised clinical history systems, in order to be able to access the necessary data, automatically. Finally, we will develop an automatic retina imaging system, which we will include in the software, and that will facilitate the screening of diabetic patients, notifying the doctor to screen the presence of abnormal images in the retinographs performed.     Durante el periodo 2013-2015 y gracias a la ayuda aportada por el proyecto PI12/01535, hemos desarrollado una aplicación de apoyo clínico para el cribado de retinopatía diabética, a partir de una base de datos de 2.084 pacientes diabéticos. Que nos ha permitido desarrollar un nuevo modelo de cribado atendiendo a los factores de riesgo desarrollando un software que utilizado en atención primaria, pueda indicar el factor de riesgo y el tiempo de cribado óptimo, consiguiendo una especificidad de un 98 % y una sensibilidad del 52% En esta nueva fase del estudio procederemos a la mejora del mismo, aumentando la precisión en el diagnóstico mejorando la sensibilidad de la prueba, y adecuando la inclusión del software en los sistemas de historia clínica informatizada, para poder acceder a los datos necesarios, de forma automática. Finalmente desarrollaremos un sistema de lectura automática de imágenes de la retina, que incluiremos en el software, y que facilitara el cribado de los pacientes diabéticos, avisando al médico que realice el cribado de la presencia de imágenes anómalas en las retinografías realizadas.
