EL OBJETIVO DE MEJORAR LOS PRONOSTICOS DE ERUPCIONES DE VOLCANES, Y SU USO EN LOS PROTOCOLOS DE GESTION DE ALERTAS SUPONE UN RETO ASOCIADO A LOS PROBLEMAS DE SEGURIDAD Y PROTECCION DE LA POBLACION ANTE RIESGOS NATURALES. ES UN PROYECTO ALTAMENTE MULTIDISCIPLINAR EN DONDE SE COMBINAN LA EXPERIENCIA DE GRUPOS DE INVESTIGACION EN ANALISIS Y PROCESADO DE SEÑALES, APRENDIZAJE AUTOMATICO, BIG DATA Y GESTION DEL CONOCIMIENTO, JUNTO CON LOS DE SISMOLOGIA VOLCANICA Y VOLCANISMO ACTIVO. PARTIENDO DE LAS SEÑALES SISMO-VOLCANICAS SE REALIZARAN MODELOS QUE INTERPRETEN LOS SISMOGRAMAS, LOS PROCESOS FISICOS QUE LOS GENERAN Y SU RELACION CON LA DINAMICA VOLCANICA, CON EL FIN DEL PRONOSTICO ERUPTIVO. SE FORTALECERAN LAS RELACIONES TRANSVERSALES EN LAS QUE SE INTERCAMBIEN HERRAMIENTAS DE PROCESADO DE SEÑAL, DE GESTION DE BASES DE DATOS Y DE MODELOS FISICOS DE ERUPCIONES. LAS ERUPCIONES VOLCANICAS SUPONEN UN IMPACTO SOCIAL Y ECONOMICO ELEVADO INCLUYENDO LA ESCALA GLOBAL. PUEDEN GENERAR GRAVES CONSECUENCIAS A NIVEL HUMANITARIO, SOBRE EL CLIMA O EL TRAFICO AEREO, ENTRE OTROS. ESTE PROYECTO ES DE ALTO IMPACTO INTERNACIONAL INTEGRANDO GRUPOS PRESTIGIOSOS DE EUROPA, AMERICA Y ASIA. ESTA PROYECCION PERMITIRA EXPORTAR LAS METODOLOGIAS DESARROLLADAS A DIFERENTES ESCENARIOS ERUPTIVOS MUNDIALES. EL CONSORCIO CUENTA CON UNA DILATADA EXPERIENCIA CON PROYECTOS CONJUNTOS LO QUE GARANTIZA SU EXITO, SIENDO EL GERMEN DE UN FUTURO PROYECTO DE LA UE. PARA LA EJECUCION DEL PROYECTO SE DISPONE DE UNA AMPLIA BASE DE REGISTROS SISMICOS A LO LARGO DEL TIEMPO DE DIFERENTES VOLCANES. SE ESTUDIARA LA EVOLUCION DE LA DINAMICA DEL VOLCAN Y LA REALIZACION DE MODELOS PREDICTIVOS A PARTIR DE LA INFORMACION EXTRAIDA USANDO LAS INNOVADORAS METODOLOGIAS PROPUESTAS. LA PARTICIPACION DE OBSERVATORIOS VOLCANOLOGICOS GARANTIZA ADEMAS EL ACCESO EN TIEMPO REAL A NUEVOS DATOS Y POR TANTO LA REALIZACION DE TEST DE VALIDACION DE LAS HERRAMIENTAS DESARROLLADAS. SE PROPONE UNA NUEVA FILOSOFIA DE ORGANIZACION DE LA INFORMACION QUE OPTIMIZARA LA SEÑAL ORIGINAL, O EL METADATA, INCLUYENDO NUEVA INFORMACION COMO TIPOS DE EVENTOS REGISTRADOS, SUS CARACTERISTICAS ESPECTRALES, DURACION, DETERMINACION DE LLEGADAS DE FASES, CUANTIFICACION ENERGETICA, PATRONES DE POLARIZACION, CARACTERISTICAS DE LA CODA, ETC. ESTA NUEVA ESTRATEGIA DE ANALISIS DE LA INFORMACION SUPONE UN RETO PARA LA COMUNIDAD CIENTIFICA INTERNACIONAL PUES SE COMBINAN NUEVAS E INNOVATIVAS TECNICAS DE PROCESADO DE SEÑAL, NUEVA FILOSOFIA EN LA GENERACION DE BASES DE DATOS Y NUEVA INFORMACION PARA LA REALIZACION DE ALERTAS TEMPRANAS DE ERUPCIONES VOLCANICAS, LO QUE MEJORA LOS ASPECTOS DE SEGURIDAD Y PROTECCION DE LA POBLACION. LAS METODOLOGIAS QUE SE PROPONEN EN EL PROYECTO SON NOVEDOSAS EN ESTE CAMPO Y LOS GRUPOS INVOLUCRADOS POSEEN UNA EXPERIENCIA PREVIA Y EXITOSA EN ELLAS. (Spanish)

IT THEREFORE FOCUSES ON THE PROCESSING, ADVANCED ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF SEISMIC-VOLCANIC RECORDS. THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE FORECASTS OF VOLCANO ERUPTIONS, AND THEIR USE IN ALERT MANAGEMENT PROTOCOLS IS A CHALLENGE ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROBLEMS OF SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF THE POPULATION FROM NATURAL HAZARDS. IT IS A HIGHLY MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECT IN WHICH THE EXPERIENCE OF RESEARCH GROUPS IN ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING OF SIGNALS, AUTOMATIC LEARNING, BIG DATA AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT ARE COMBINED, ALONG WITH THOSE OF VOLCANIC SEISMOLOGY AND ACTIVE VOLCANISM. STARTING FROM THE SEISMIC-VOLCANICA SIGNALS, MODELS WILL BE MADE THAT INTERPRET THE SEISMOGRAMS, THE PHYSICAL PROCESSES THAT GENERATE THEM AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH VOLCANIC DYNAMICS, WITH THE AIM OF THE ERUPTIVE FORECAST. CROSS-CUTTING RELATIONSHIPS IN WHICH SIGNAL PROCESSING TOOLS ARE EXCHANGED, DATABASE MANAGEMENT AND PHYSICAL ERUPTION MODELS WILL BE STRENGTHENED. VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS HAVE A HIGH SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT INCLUDING THE GLOBAL SCALE. THEY CAN HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES AT THE HUMANITARIAN LEVEL, ON CLIMATE OR AIR TRAFFIC, AMONG OTHERS. THIS PROJECT IS OF HIGH INTERNATIONAL IMPACT, BRINGING TOGETHER PRESTIGIOUS GROUPS FROM EUROPE, AMERICA AND ASIA. THIS PROJECTION WILL ALLOW EXPORTING THE METHODS DEVELOPED TO DIFFERENT ERUPTIVE SCENARIOS WORLDWIDE. THE CONSORTIUM HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH JOINT PROJECTS, WHICH GUARANTEES ITS SUCCESS, BEING THE SEED OF A FUTURE EU PROJECT. FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE PROJECT THERE IS A WIDE BASE OF SEISMIC RECORDS OVER TIME OF DIFFERENT VOLCANOES. THE EVOLUTION OF THE DYNAMICS OF THE VOLCAN AND THE REALISATION OF PREDICTIVE MODELS FROM THE INFORMATION EXTRACTED USING THE INNOVATIVE METHODS PROPOSED WILL BE STUDIED. THE PARTICIPATION OF VOLCANOLOGICOS OBSERVATORIES ALSO GUARANTEES REAL-TIME ACCESS TO NEW DATA AND THEREFORE THE PERFORMANCE OF VALIDATION TEST OF THE TOOLS DEVELOPED. IT PROPOSES A NEW PHILOSOPHY OF ORGANISATION OF THE INFORMATION THAT WILL OPTIMISE THE ORIGINAL SIGNAL, OR THE METADATA, INCLUDING NEW INFORMATION AS TYPES OF RECORDED EVENTS, THEIR SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS, DURATION, DETERMINATION OF PHASE ARRIVALS, ENERGETIC QUANTIFICATION, POLARISATION PATTERNS, CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CODA, ETC. THIS NEW STRATEGY OF ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION POSES A CHALLENGE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY BECAUSE NEW AND INNOVATIVE SIGNAL PROCESSING TECHNIQUES ARE COMBINED, NEW PHILOSOPHY IN THE GENERATION OF DATABASES AND NEW INFORMATION FOR THE REALISATION OF EARLY WARNINGS OF VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS, WHICH IMPROVES THE ASPECTS OF SECURITY AND PROTECTION OF THE POPULATION. THE METHODS PROPOSED IN THE PROJECT ARE NOVEL IN THIS FIELD AND THE GROUPS INVOLVED HAVE PREVIOUS AND SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE IN THEM. (English)
