Actualmente los test que se aplican para evaluar la receptividad del endometrio se están realizando con microarrays, y hasta la fecha no existe en el mercado ningún test equiparable en cuanto a eficacia al test ERA. Este análisis evalúa la expresión de 238 genes que han demostrado ser potenciales predictores transcriptómicos de la receptividad endometrial, permitiendo la identificación de la ventana de implantación (WOI) para cada paciente de forma personalizada. Las técnicas de microarray han permitido estudiar de forma específica los patrones de expresión génicos de la ventana de implantación y del resto de fases del ciclo menstrual. Así, el test ERA realizado a partir de tejido endometrial nos permite evaluar el estado receptivo de un endometrio en función de dichos patrones génicos.
