ACTUALMENTE EXISTEN SUELOS, TANTO DE CERÁMICA COMO DE MATERIALES DE MADERA QUE ALCANZAN RESISTENCIAS ELEVADAS, PERO SUS PROCESOS DE FABRICACIÓN TIENEN ASOCIADOS UNA SERIE DE INCONVENIENTES (MATERIAL, POCA FLEXIBILIDAD, COSTE, COVS, ETC), DIFERENTES PARA CADA UNO DE LOS DOS SUSTRATOS, QUE CON LA IMPRESIÓN INKJET SE SUPERAN EN PARTE, DE AHÍ EL INTERÉS POR ESTA TECNOLOGÍA, AUNQUE NO SE HAN CONSEGUIDO RESISTENCIAS ELEVADAS PARA ZONAS DE TRANSITO ELEVADO. POR OTRO LADO, LOS MATERIALES MÁS EMPLEADOS EN EL ENVASADO ALIMENTARIO SON LOS MATERIALES PLÁSTICOS, DADO SU BAJO COSTE Y PESO, PERO PRESENTAN EL INCONVENIENTE DE SU RELATIVA ELEVADA PERMEABILIDAD A GASES, LO CUAL DISMINUYE LA VIDA ÚT (Spanish)

FURTHERMORE, THE MATERIALS MOST COMMONLY USED IN FOOD PACKAGING ARE PLASTICS MATERIALS, GIVEN ITS LOW COST AND WEIGHT, BUT HAVE THE DISADVANTAGE OF HIGH RELATIVE GAS PERMEABILITY, WHICH REDUCES THE LIFE OF FOODS CONTAINING.
