    The MIDMAE project has studied the application of Astaxanthin in relation to eye problems._x000D_ Astaxanthin is a liposoluble carotenoid found in the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis and is an antioxidant that is 10 times stronger than beta-carotene and up to 500 times stronger than vitamin E._x000D_ Astaxanthin neutralises free radicals, fighting age-related diseases such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), by preventing the proliferation of these unstable molecules.
