THE KM3NET NEUTRINO TELESCOPE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN PRESENTS UNQUESTIONABLE ADVANTAGES: BETTER ANGULAR RESOLUTION IN WATER, GREATER VOLUME AND IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE. VIABILITY DEMONSTRATED BY ITS PREDECESSOR ANTARES AND FIRST PROTOTYPES AND LINES._x000D_ 3. THERE IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO MEASURE THE MASS HIERARCHY OF NEUTRINOS USING ATMOSPHERIC NEUTRINOS THROUGH THE DENSE CONFIGURATION OF THE ORCA DETECTOR, ENDORSED BY EUROPEAN FUNDING AGENCIES._x000D_ 4. THE ORCA AND ARCA CONFIGURATIONS ARE COMPLEMENTARY AND SUITABLE FOR THE INDIRECT DETECTION OF DARK MATTER THROUGH NEUTRINOS OR MULTI-MESSENGER STUDIES, NOW ENHANCED WITH GRAVITATIONAL WAVES._x000D_ 5. A DETECTOR OF THE SIZE OF KM3NET REQUIRES NEW SYSTEMS OF LAST GENERATION, FOR EXAMPLE IN TASKS OF ACOUSTIC POSITIONING SYSTEMS._x000D_ _x000D_ THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO CONTINUE AND EXPAND OUR WORK IN ANTARES AND, SPECIALLY, KM3NET THROUGH THE FOLLOWING CONTRIBUTIONS:_x000D_ - ANALYSIS OF ANTARES DATA, SUCH AS THE SEARCH FOR DARK MATTER. WE WANT TO IMPROVE THE PRESENT ANALYSES, INCLUDING CASCADES AND INCREASING THE ANGULAR RESOLUTION IN EVENTS OF A LINE, KEY FOR THE SENSITIVITY AT LOW ENERGIES._x000D_ - STUDY AND OPTIMIZATION OF THE BENEFITS OF KM3NET-ARCA/ORCA THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF DATA FROM THE FIRST LINES._x000D_ - DARK MATTER WITH ORCA/ARCA: OUR EXPERIENCE IN ANTARES AND THE RELEVANCE OF THIS ANALYSIS MAKE IT NATURAL FOR US TO CONTINUE THIS LINE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE DENSER ORCA CONFIGURATION. ON THE OTHER HAND, ARCA IS A PERFECT COMPLEMENT TO OTHER DARK MATTER HYPOTHESES._x000D_ - MASS HIERARCHY WITH ORCA: WE WANT TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COLLABORATE IN THIS IMPORTANT MILESTONE GIVEN THE SYNERGIES OFFERED BY THE EXPERIENCE IN DARK MATTER ANALYSIS._x000D_ - ALIGNMENT AND ACOUSTIC POSITIONING FOR KM3NET: WE HAVE CO-LED THE WORK RELATED TO THE ACOUSTIC SYSTEM OF ANTARES AND KM3NET. THIS EXPERIENCE ALLOWS US TO DEVELOP THE CORRESPONDING SYSTEM FOR KM3NET AND BECOME THE REFERENCE ACOUSTIC LABORATORY FOR KM3NET._x000D_ - ACOUSTIC DETECTION WITH KM3NET: IT IS THE ONLY POSSIBLE TECHNIQUE IN THE SEA FOR ULTRA-HIGH ENERGY NEUTRINOS. THE ACOUSTIC BACKGROUND WILL BE STUDIED AND ALGORITHMS AND INSTRUMENTATION WILL BE DEVELOPED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF KM3NET ACOUSTIC SENSORS FOR THIS PURPOSE, EXPECTING TO REACH THE SENSITIVITY TO GZK NEUTRINOS._x000D_ - IT IS EXPECTED THAT, AS HAPPENED RECENTLY, THE ADVANCES DEVELOPED IN ACOUSTIC TECHNOLOGIES AND SUBMARINE SENSORS CAN ALSO BE EXPLOITED IN OTHER AREAS, THUS MAKING TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ EXPERIENCE: THE RESEARCH TEAM HAS BEEN PARTICIPATING IN THE NEUTRINO TELESCOPES ANTARES AND KM3NET FOR MORE THAN A DECADE WITH RELEVANT CONTRIBUTIONS. THE SKILLS OF THE GROUP IN THE USE OF ACOUSTIC TECHNOLOGIES IN ASTROPARTICLE DETECTORS ENSURES, ON THE ONE HAND, BEING ABLE TO EXPLOIT SUCH INFRASTRUCTURES IN PHYSICS ANALYSES SUCH AS THE SEARCH FOR DARK MATTER, OSCILLATION MEASUREMENTS, DETECTION OF ULTRA-ENERGETIC NEUTRINOS AND MULTI-MESSENGER STUDIES AND, ON THE OTHER SIDE, BEING AT THE FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF IT.
