    EL INGLES COMO LENGUA EXTRANJERA OCUPA UN LUGAR DESTACADO EN EDUCACION PRIMARIA, SECUNDARIA Y BACHILLERATO. LA EVALUACION DEL VOCABULARIO QUE CONOCEN LOS ESTUDIANTES EN LOS DISTINTOS CURSOS, PRINCIPALMENTE EN AQUELLOS QUE SON FINAL DE ETAPA EDUCATIVA, ES UN REQUISITO PARA LLEVAR A CABO UNA PLANIFICACION Y POLITICA LINGUISTICA QUE FACILITE EL BILINGUISMO EDUCATIVO Y LA EXCELENCIA EN EDUCACION. SIN EMBARGO, EXISTE MUY POCA INVESTIGACION SOBRE EL CONOCIMIENTO DE VOCABULARIO, PRINCIPALMENTE, EN LO QUE RESPECTA AL VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO EN INGLES DE LOS ESTUDIANTES. ASIMISMO, LA INVESTIGACION SOBRE LA ESTRUCTURA, PROCESAMIENTO Y CONCEPTUALIZACION DEL LEXICON EN LENGUAS EXTRANJERAS (LE) ES PRACTICAMENTE INEXISTENTE, EN PARTICULAR, CON NIÑOS/AS Y ADOLESCENTES EN CONTEXTOS DE AULA. CON EL DOBLE PROPOSITO DE APORTAR EVIDENCIA SOBRE ESTOS ASPECTOS DE UTILIDAD PARA LA COMUNIDAD CIENTIFICA Y SERVIR DE APOYO EN EL AMBITO EDUCATIVO, PLANTEAMOS UN PROYECTO ARTICULADO EN TORNO A LA EXPLORACION DEL INCREMENTO DE VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO EN INGLES LE EN DOS CURSOS FINAL DE ETAPA EDUCATIVA: 6º DE EDUCACION PRIMARIA Y 2º DE BACHILLERATO. TENIENDO EN CUENTA ESTE EJE, EN ESTE PROYECTO NOS CENTRAMOS EN LA INVESTIGACION DE LAS SIGUIENTES LINEAS: (1) IDENTIFICACION DEL NUMERO Y LA FRECUENCIA DE LAS PALABRAS EN INGLES QUE CONOCEN LOS ESTUDIANTES; (2) EXPLORACION DEL INCREMENTO CUANTITATIVO (BREADTH) Y EL INCREMENTO CUALITATIVO (DEPTH) EN VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO ENTRE 6º DE EDUCACION PRIMARIA Y 2º DE BACHILLERATO; (3) EXPLORACION DEL EFECTO DE LA CATEGORIA SEMANTICA EN LA CALIDAD DEL VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO; (4) EXPLORACION DE LA RELACION ENTRE LA CREATIVIDAD DEL SUJETO Y SU PRODUCCION DE VOCABULARIO EN INGLES LE; Y (5) IDENTIFICACION DE LA RELACION ENTRE INPUT Y VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO RELACIONADO CON CULTURA Y EMOCIONES. EXPLORAREMOS ESTOS ASPECTOS MEDIANTE PDLEX (PRODUCCION/ASOCIACION) Y PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY LEVELS TEST (PVLT) (PRODUCCION CONTROLADA/FRECUENCIA). SI BIEN TODOS ESTOS TEMAS SON DE INTERES PARA LOS PROFESIONALES DEL MUNDO EDUCATIVO, DE PARTICULAR RELEVANCIA LO SON LAS LINEAS 4 Y 5. DENTRO DE LA PRIMERA INCORPORAMOS LA INVESTIGACION DEL EFECTO DE UN TRATAMIENTO EN CREATIVIDAD SOBRE EL POSIBLE INCREMENTO DE LA PRODUCCION DE VOCABULARIO EN 2º DE BACHILLERATO, Y PARA LA LINEA 5 INCLUIMOS EL ANALISIS DEL VOCABULARIO DE EMOCIONES Y CULTURA EN LIBROS DE TEXTO Y LA OBSERVACION DE SU RELACION CON LA PRODUCCION DE PALABRAS EN ESTOS CAMPOS SEMANTICOS POR PARTE DE LOS ESTUDIANTES EN 6º DE PRIMARIA Y 2º DE BACHILLERATO. LAS HIPOTESIS DE PARTIDA DEL PROYECTO SON LAS SIGUIENTES: EL VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO SERA MAYOR EN 2º DE BACHILLERATO QUE EN 6º DE EDUCACION PRIMARIA EN PDLEX Y PVLT. SE OBSERVARA UN NUMERO MAYOR DE PALABRAS INFRECUENTES Y ASOCIACIONES DISTINTAS EN 2º DE BACHILLERATO. HABRA VARIABILIDAD EN EL NUMERO DE PALABRAS Y TIPO DE ASOCIACION EN FUNCION DE LAS CARACTERISTICAS DE LA CATEGORIA ESTIMULO Y DEL NIVEL. EN LOS SUJETOS MAS CREATIVOS SE IDENTIFICARAN RASGOS DE ORGANIZACION DEL LEXICON MENTAL Y ESTRATEGIAS QUE FACILITAN LA PRODUCCION DE VOCABULARIO EN INGLES LE. EL TRATAMIENTO EN CREATIVIDAD PREVISIBLEMENTE INCREMENTARA EL NIVEL DE CREATIVIDAD DE LOS SUJETOS, Y SE REFLEJARA EN UNA MEJORA EN SU VOCABULARIO PRODUCTIVO EN L2.     ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (EFL) OCCUPIES A PREDOMINANT PLACE IN PRIMARY, SECONDARY AND BACCALAUREATE (12TH GRADE). THE ASSESSMENT OF THE VOCABULARY THAT THE STUDENTS KNOW IN THE DIFFERENT GRADES, MAINLY IN THOSE THAT ARE AT THE END OF AN EDUCATIONAL STAGE, IS A REQUIREMENT TO CARRY OUT A PLANNING AND LINGUISTIC POLICY THAT FACILITATES EDUCATIONAL BILINGUALISM AND THE EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION. HOWEVER, RESEARCH IS SCARCE ON VOCABULARY KNOWLEDGE, MAINLY AS REGARDS LEARNERS¿ PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY IN EFL. LIKEWISE, LIKEWISE, THE RESEARCH ON THE STRUCTURE, PROCESSING AND CONCEPTUALIZATION OF THE LEXICON IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES IS NONEXISTENT, PARTICULARLY WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN CLASSROOM CONTEXTS. WITH THE DOUBLE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING EVIDENCE ON THESE ASPECTS OF UTILITY FOR THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTING THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD, WE PROPOSE A PROJECT ARTICULATED AROUND THE EXPLORATION OF THE INCREASE OF PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY IN EFL IN 6TH GRADE OF PRIMARY EDUCATION AND 2ND GRADE OF BACCALAUREATE._x000D_ TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THIS MAIN TOPIC, IN THIS PROJECT WE ADDRESS THE INVESTIGATION OF THE FOLLOWING LINES: (1) IDENTIFICATION OF THE NUMBER AND FREQUENCY OF EFL WORDS KNOWN BY THE LEARNERS; (2) EXPLORATION OF THE QUANTITATIVE INCREASE (BREADTH) AND THE QUALITATIVE INCREASE (DEPTH) IN PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY BETWEEN 6TH GRADE OF PRIMARY EDUCATION AND 2º OF BACCALAUREATE; (3) EXPLORATION OF THE EFFECT OF THE SEMANTIC CATEGORY ON THE QUALITY OF PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY; (4) EXPLORATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEARNER¿S CREATIVITY AND HIS/HER PRODUCTION OF EFL VOCABULARY; AND (5) IDENTIFICATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INPUT AND LEARNERS¿ INTAKE RELATED TO CULTURE AND EMOTIONS. WE WILL EXPLORE THESE ASPECTS THROUGH PDLEX (PRODUCTION / ASSOCIATION) AND PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY LEVELS TEST (PVLT) (CONTROLLED PRODUCTION / FREQUENCY). WHILE ALL THESE ISSUES ARE OF INTEREST TO EDUCATION PRACTITIONERS, LINES OF RESEARCH 4 AND 5 ARE OF PARTICULAR RELEVANCE IN THE EDUCATIONAL SPHERE. WITHIN THE FORMER, WE INCORPORATE THE INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF A TREATMENT TO FOSTER CREATIVITY ON THE POSSIBLE INCREASE IN VOCABULARY PRODUCTION IN 2ND YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. FOR THE LATTER, WE INCLUDE THE ANALYSIS OF THE VOCABULARY OF EMOTIONS AND CULTURE IN TEXTBOOKS AND THE OBSERVATION OF ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PRODUCTION OF WORDS IN THESE SEMANTIC FIELDS BY STUDENTS IN 6TH GRADE AND 2º OF BACCALAUREATE. THE INITIAL HYPOTHESES OF THE PROJECT ARE AS FOLLOWS: PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY WILL BE HIGHER IN 2ND YEAR OF BACCALAUREATE THAN IN 6TH YEAR OF PRIMARY EDUCATION BOTH IN THE PDLEX AND PVLT. A GREATER NUMBER OF INFREQUENT WORDS AND DIFFERENT ASSOCIATIONS WILL BE OBSERVED IN THE 2ND YEAR OF BACCALAUREATE. THERE WILL BE VARIABILITY IN THE NUMBER OF WORDS AND TYPE OF ASSOCIATION DEPENDING ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STIMULUS CATEGORY AND THE LEVEL. IN THE MOST CREATIVE SUBJECTS, ORGANIZATIONAL FEATURES OF THE MENTAL LEXICON AND STRATEGIES THAT FACILITATE THE PRODUCTION OF VOCABULARY IN EFL WILL BE IDENTIFIED. THE TREATMENT IN CREATIVITY WILL FORESEEABLY INCREASE LEARNERS¿ LEVEL OF CREATIVITY AND WILL BE REFLECTED IN AN IMPROVEMENT IN THEIR PRODUCTIVE VOCABULARY IN L2. FINALLY, WE HOPE TO FIND A POOR RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INPUT OF CULTURAL VOCABULARY AND EMOTIONS AND THE INTAKE THROUGH PDLEX DUE TO THE REDUCED RECURRENCE OF WORDS IN TEXTBOOKS. (English)
