The industry is continuously developing innovative glass technologies that offer huge advantages as far as yield over older products. Laminated glass, where two or more glass panels are joined using an intermediate layer, has been used for decades due to safety reasons, thanks to their capacity to remain together when broken. More recently, other uses for laminated glass have arisen, which include acoustic isolation, decoration and architectural design, among others. The interspersed films can provide laminated glass with brilliant colours, distinctive patterns and various degrees of transmission for privacy applications._x000D_ In the NOVAGLASS project, additional functionalities will be explored based on new printed electronic technologies that cover light sources and RFID detection systems.
