Obiectivul general al proiectului este cresterea capacitatii de cercetare a UMF Iuliu Hatieganu Cluj Napoca, prin dezvoltarea unei infrastructuri de tip CLOUD, infrastructura care va furniza resursele informatice si de comunicatii necesare atat pentru stocarea si analiza volumelor mari de date care rezulta din activitatea de cercetare a universitatii, cat si pentru schimbul de date stiintifice la nivel european si international. Proiectul va conduce la ridicarea nivelului de competitivitate stiintifica a UMF Iuliu Hatieganu Cluj prin dezvoltarea si diversificarea infrastructurii de cercetare - dezvoltare, avand in vedere ca pentru toate acestea este absolut esentiala utilizarea unei infrastructuri IT&C performante si sigure. In plus, noul centru de resurse CLOUD va contribui la cresterea accesului cercetatorilor din UMF IULIU HATIEGANU CLUJ NAPOCA la resurse globale de informare prin interconectarea cu sisteme europene si internatonale detinute de importante centre academice si institute de cercetare. Ca urmare, va fi favorizata obtinerea excelentei in cercetare-dezvoltare-inovare prin punerea in comun a rezultatelor stiintifice, prin extinderea capacitatii de calcul a institutului, de la calcul si pana la stocare, prin utilizarea de instrumente deschise de analiza a datelor, conducand la eliminarea fragmentarii intalnite in activitatea stiitifica atunci cand vorbim despre domenii diferite care genereaza date. Astfel, prin Memorandumurile de intelegere incheiate de catre UMF IULIU HATIEGANU CLUJ NAPOCA, centrul de resurse CLOUD dezvoltat prin proiect va oferi servicii de cloud computing pentru construirea, testarea, implementarea si gestionarea aplicatiilor si serviciilor printr-o retea globala de centre de date, utilizate de numeroase organizatii universitare si de cercetare din intreaga lume. In acest context, UMF IULIU HATIEGANU CLUJ NAPOCA va putea utiliza instrumente CLOUD specifice pentru cercetare si colaborare ceea ce va conduce implicit la cresterea capacitatii de cercetare si a gradului de cooperare internationala. The general objective of the project is to increase the research capacity of UMF Iuliu Hatieganu Cluj Napoca, through the development of a CLOUD infrastructure, the infrastructure that will provide the necessary information and communication resources both for the storage and analysis of the large volumes of data resulting from the research activity of the university, as well as for the exchange of scientific data at European and international level. The project will increase the level of scientific competitiveness of UMF Iuliu Hatieganu Cluj by developing and diversifying the research and development infrastructure, considering that for all this it is absolutely essential to use an efficient and secure IT & C infrastructure. In addition, the new CLOUD resource center will contribute to increasing the access of researchers from UMF IULIU Hatieganu CLUJ NAPOCA to global information resources through interconnection with European and international systems owned by important academic centers and research institutes. As a result, it will be favored to obtain excellence in R & D and innovation by pooling scientific results, by extending the computing capacity of the institute, from calculation to storage, by using open data analysis tools, leading to the elimination of fragmentation encountered in scientific activity when we talk about different domains that generate data. Thus, through the Memoranda of Understanding concluded by UMF IULIU Hatieganu CLUJ NAPOCA, the CLOUD Resource Center developed through the project will provide cloud computing services for building, testing, implementing and managing applications and services through a global network of data centers, used by numerous university and research organisations around the world. In this context, UMF IULIU Hatieganu CLUJ NAPOCA will be able to use specific CLOUD tools for research and collaboration, which will implicitly increase the research capacity and degree of international cooperation.
