According to the specifications of the Large Infrastructure Operational Pogram (POIM) and the Specific Objective of Priority Axis 9, Investment Priority 9.1 “Increasing the COVID-19 Crisis Management Capacity”, the general objective of the project is to increase the capacity to manage the COVID-19 health crisis by making investments at the level of the Public Health Unit Mangalia Municipal Hospital, in order to improve the means and time of response to the public health crisis caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The way in which the project contributes to the result indicator of the program and generates a long-term positive effect is to facilitate the endowment, through the activities within the project, of the sanitary unit with equipment, medical devices and supplies needed to develop an adequate capacity for care and treatment of cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2/health crisis management. These facilities will contribute to strengthening operationality at local, regional and national level, further developing the capacity to manage the COVID-19 health crisis, reducing inequalities in public health status and improving access to quality healthcare. The project contributes to the modernisation and technology of the poor sanitary infrastructure, which continues to use physically and morally worn appliances, through the acquisition of new and efficient equipment, which bring both a qualitative increase in the services offered, as well as a quantitative increase in the number of final recipients of medical services, thus improving the capacity to manage this unprecedented pandemic crisis. This will make the health unit better prepared to act promptly and with appropriate means, thus contributing to the timely and effective response of the public health system to the COVID-19 crisis. The benefits for the target group that derive from the project are: — reducing the risk of spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus, by ensuring health safety conditions at the level of the health unit and by early detection of possible cases of infection; efficiency of the infection case management process, by equipping with the appropriate medical equipment.
