    Η πράξη αφορά την υλοποίηση του θεσμού της παράλληλης στήριξης των μαθητών με αναπηρία ή και ειδικές εκπαιδευτικές ανάγκες, οι οποίοι φοιτούν στο γενικό σχολείο. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό οι εκπαιδευτικοί συλλειτουργούν με τον εκπαιδευτικό της τάξης (παράλληλη στήριξη) και υποστηρίζουν αποκλειστικά τους μαθητές με αναπηρία ή και με ειδικές εκπαιδευτικές ανάγκες έτσι ώστε να μπορούν να ανταποκριθούν στις απαιτήσεις του προγράμματος σπουδών τους. Επίσης, προβλέπεται η απασχόληση του αναγκαίου Ειδικού Βοηθητικού Προσωπικού (ΕΒΠ) για τους μαθητές που αδυνατούν να αυτοεξυπηρετηθούν (μαθητές με κινητικά προβλήματα κλπ) καθώς και του αναγκαίου Ειδικού Εκπαιδευτικού Προσωπικού/σχολικοί νοσηλευτές για όσους μαθητές χρήζουν νοσηλευτικής φροντίδας.
