The applicant for this project is the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (short SPU) operating since 1952. With its educational and scientific research activities, it belongs to a unique European and world education area. It is a modern, open university, reflecting the needs of the agri-food sector on a local and global scale. The Applicant and the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering are part of the Centre of Excellence for Integrated River Basin Management in Changing Environment Conditions (CEIMP), which specialises in reducing climate change risks to the environment and possibilities for proactive adaptation. The present project focuses on information activities addressing flood risk reduction and objective reporting on the adverse impacts of climate change (specific objective 2.1.1 Reduction of flood risk and negative impacts of climate change, call OPKZP – PO2 – SC211-2018-42) under Investment Priority 2.1 – Support for investments for adaptation to climate change, including ecosystem approaches. The objective of the project is to inform the target group objectively about the adverse effects of climate change, such as heat waves, droughts, torrential rains, floods, landslides and soil erosion. The project also addresses the awareness of the target group on the issue of adaptation to these emergencies. The target groups of the project are secondary and university students, educators, experts in affected areas and the general public. The target group will receive relevant information on the subject of the project through information programmes that will include competitions, lectures, practical environmental education in the form of field excursions, information days at schools and, in particular, practical demonstrations during the information activity “summer school”. These activities will be supported by the creation of a website dealing with the issue and creation of audiovisual documents. In the form of presentations with an expert commentary, the applicant will contribute to the education of flood history and anti-flood measures. Individual information activities will be evaluated in the final phase of the present project through a conference for the professional public, which will be supported by the publication of a special edition of a scientific journal called Acta Horticulturae et regiotecturae. Timetable for the implementation of the project activities: February 2019 – December 2019 Project implementation location: the whole territory of Slovakia (English) | |||||||||||||||

So svojimi edukačnými a vedeckovýskumnými aktivitami patrí do jedinečného európskeho a svetového vzdelávacieho priestoru. Tieto aktivity budú podporené vytvorením webstránky s riešenou problematikou a tvorbou audiovizuálnych dokumentov. Žiadateľ formou prezentácií s odborným komentárom prispeje k osvete v oblasti povodňovej histórie a protipovodňových opatrení. Jednotlivé informačné aktivity budú zhodnotené v záverečnej fáze predkladaného projektu prostredníctvom konferencie pre odbornú verejnosť, ktorá bude podporená vydaním špeciálneho vydania vedeckého časopisu s názvom Acta horticulturae et regiotecturae. Harmonogram realizácie aktivít projektu: február 2019 - december 2019 Miesto realizácie projektu: celé územie Slovenska (Slovak)
