The starting point for the project will be an analysis of the current state of the underlying information and information systems used in the section Hydrological Service of SHMÚ necessary for the creation of dokumentov:Hydrologické yearbooks of quantity of surface waters, quality of surface water,Hydrological yearbooks of groundwater quantity and groundwater quality,Waterwater balance of the amount of surface water for the past year,Waterwater quality balance of surface water for the past year, water balance of groundwater quantity for the past yearWaterwater balance of groundwater quality over the past year,Management of water balance for the past year,International Danube Yearbook TNMN, which are the basis for the creation of: The Slovak Water Monitoring Framework Programme and the water monitoring programmes for the year in question,Sub-basin Management Plans and Slovakia’s Water Plan,Flood Risk Management Plan, and other strategic documents, and for the production of supporting documents, in particular pre:pre Report on the State of the Environment of the Slovak Republic for the Report on Water Management for Statistical Questionnaires of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, EUROSTAT/OECD for the charging of water use for decision-making processes of the state administration and for the international exchange of data and information for reporting obligations to the EEA; EKA further The basis for the project is to evaluate the current efficiency and quality of transport lines for collecting data from own monitoring objects, for collecting data from other sectoral and non-departmental entities, their validation, processing, archiving and providing water information. SHMÚ is one of the organisations with a large number of monitored, collected, produced and provided information, products and services that are addressed through separate sub-information systems (hereinafter referred to as “IS”). At SHMÚ there are a number of sub-IS, which are further detailed in the methodologies of the various tasks of development and operation of these IS at SHMÚ. In the past, the formation of partial IS was not based on a predefined concept of IS within the whole organisation, which resulted in the creation of separate partial but non-cooperating IS. At the same time, individual IS are built on reference underlying data, which in some cases are currently burdened by positional uncertainty and mutual incompatibility. For this reason, the use of these data causes a number of difficulties in assessing the status of surface and groundwater bodies to the various organisations of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, both in the field of waters and other institutions concerned. Similarly, the method of archiving, managing and distributing data does not correspond to current requirements and technological possibilities for managing and sharing spatial and non-spatial data. This situation causes a number of problems and complications in the activities of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, the departmental institutions of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, cooperating organisations within other Slovak departments and other stakeholders in the field of water policy. Therefore, one of the objectives of this project is to address the interoperability and integration of existing information systems relevant to water information within the framework of the SHMÚ, which process various water information. The information system will provide all information systems in the Ministry of Environment with an interface for the provision and exchange of consolidated water information and shall provide users with easy access to up-to-date water information. In other words, the aim of the project is to complete (or rebuild) the water information system so that it meets all the requirements of the SHMÚ as the primary promoter of the project and is ready to integrate other institutions using and processing water information. One of the outputs of the project should also be a platform/environment accessible to the department and its subordinate institutions, which will pool relevant water information and provide access to such information – for the fulfilment of reporting, decision-making, preparation of water plans, etc. The use of such an integrated system should be mandatory for all types of tasks for the performance of national administrations. This will significantly improve the quality of these processes, while at the same time reducing expenditure on the re-creation of identical information layers and data files for each individual project, which is now a common practice. This will significantly increase the quality, simplicity and transparency of the use of the integrated information system, while at the same time bringing significant future savings on the resources invested in the collection, processing, distribution and use of water information. Podobne spôsob archivácie, správy a distribúcie dát nezodpovedá súčasným požiadavkám a technologickým možnostiam správy a zdieľania priestorových a nepriestorových údajov. Informačný systém bude poskytovať všetkým informačným systémom v rezorte MŽP rozhranie na poskytovanie a výmenu konsolidovaných informácii o vode a má zabezpečiť užívateľom jednoduchý prístup k aktuálnym informáciám o vode. Prehodnotenie štruktúry a metodiky dokumentov vodohospodárskej bilancie3. Príprava hydrologických informácii o povrchových a podzemných vodách ako podkladov k tvorbe povodňových máp  a povodňového rizika4. Vytvorenie metodiky stanovovania návrhových povodňových prietokov5. Analýza dátových zdrojov procesov zberu a spracovania dát v oblasti vôd v rámci rezortu a poverených (Slovak)
