The main objective of the project carried out in the village of Svätý Peter is to create and ensure conditions for an independent and free life of citizens of the village dependent on the help of society, in a natural home environment through home care services. In view of the consequences of an ageing population in the municipality, coupled with an increasing survival age and an increase in the number of older people dependent on long-term social and health care, the municipality considers it necessary to create conditions for the physical and financial accessibility and sustainability of quality home care services. Caregiving is a field form of social service provided to natural persons who, because of their age, severe disability or unfavorable state of health, depend on the assistance of another person in everyday activities, i.e. supporting the client’s stay in their natural home environment and reducing the demand for institutional care. The aim of the municipality is to enable its citizens dependent on help to maintain their identity so as not to worry about their feeling that they are unnecessary and live in a strange environment in a room with people who may not be close to them. By providing home care services, the municipality also wants to respond to the needs of members of the municipal community, who expressed the greatest need in the public survey carried out to compile the Community plan for social services of the municipality of Svätý Peter for 2018-2023. The aim of the municipality is to create conditions so that people dependent on social services are not isolated from the wider community and are not forced to live together so that they continue to have sufficient power over their lives and over the decisions affecting them; unfortunately, establishments providing social services tend to take precedence over the individual needs of individual service recipients. By implementing this objective, the municipality wants to ensure the achievement of the specific objective identified by the “Call of POS”: Transition from institutional to community-based care. Hlavným cieľom projektu realizovaného v obci Svätý Peter je vytvorenie a zabezpečenie podmienok pre nezávislý a slobodný život občanov obce odkázaných na pomoc spoločnosti, v prirodzenom domácom prostredí prostredníctvom domácej opatrovateľskej služby. Vzhľadom na dôsledky starnutia populácie obce spojené i s predlžujúcim sa vekom dožitia a nárastom počtu starších ľudí odkázaných na dlhodobú sociálno-zdravotnú starostlivosť, obec považuje za potrebné vytvárať podmienky na fyzickú ako aj finančnú dostupnosť a udržateľnosť kvalitnej domácej opatrovateľskej služby. Opatrovateľská služba je terénna forma sociálnej služby poskytovaná fyzickým osobám, ktoré sú z dôvodu svojho veku, pre ťažké zdravotné postihnutie alebo nepriaznivý zdravotný stav odkázané na pomoc inej osoby pri každodenných aktivitách, t.j. podpora zotrvania klienta vo svojom prirodzenom domácom prostredí a zníženie dopytu po inštitucionálnej starostlivosti.Cieľom obce je umožniť svojim občanom odkázaným na pomoc si zachovávať svoju identitu, aby ich netrápil pocit, že sú nepotrební a dožijú v cudzom prostredí v izbe s ľuďmi, ktorí im nemusia byť blízki. Obec chce aj poskytovaním domácej opatrovateľskej služby reagovať na potreby členov obecnej komunity, ktorí v rámci verejného prieskumu realizovaného na účely zostavovania Komunitného plánu sociálnych služieb obce Svätý Peter na roky 2018–2023 poskytovaniu domácej opatrovateľskej služby vyjadrovali najväčšiu potrebnosť. Cieľom obce je vytváranie podmienok, aby ľudia odkázaní na sociálne služby neboli izolovaní od širšieho spoločenstva a neboli nútení k spoločnému žitiu, aby naďalej mali dostatočnú moc nad svojimi životmi a nad rozhodnutiami, ktoré sa ich dotýkajú; žiaľ zariadenia poskytujúce sociálne služby majú tendenciu byť nadradené nad individuálne potreby jednotlivých prijímateľov služieb.Realizáciou tohto cieľa chce obec zabezpečiť dosiahnutie špecifického cieľa určeného „Výzvou POS“: Prechod z inštitucionálnej na komunitnú starostlivosť.
