The focus of the project is in improving the educational process – individual approach to pupils with special educational needs. The aim of the project – the employment of one teacher’s assistant – will ensure better learning outcomes for pupils with special educational needs – this will be reflected in the improvement of pupils’ competences (practical and theoretical) and, of course, in the assessment of pupils. The activities that the teacher’s assistant will perform are: help to teach pupils with special educational needs, help in overcoming barriers. The barriers that pupils with special educational needs cannot overcome due to their disability are as follows: the pupil cannot move alone due to immobility, the pupil cannot move alone due to mental disability – unforeseen behaviour may harm himself or classmates, the pupil is unable to perform assigned tasks in education and education alone, the pupil is unable to perform self-service and hygiene needs on his own. Students with autism and other developmental disorders are mainly involved in helping to create a sense of safety in the school environment. The teacher’s assistant will help the pupil to ensure the restructuring and visualisation of the social situation, environment, time and tasks, so that the pupil can experience success in the educational process and fulfil the tasks assigned with minimal effectiveness and problem behaviour. Zameranie projektu je v skvalitnení výchovno-vzdelávacieho procesu - individuálneho prístupu k žiakov so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami. Cieľ projektu - zamestnanie jedného asistenta učiteľa - zabezpečí lepšie študijné výsledky žiakov so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami - odzrkadlí sa to v zvyšovaní kompetencií žiakov (praktických aj teoretických) a samozrejme v hodnotení žiakov. Aktivity, ktoré bude asistent učiteľa vykonávať sú: pomoc pri vyučovaní žiakom so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami, pomoc pri prekonávaní bariér. Bariéry, ktoré žiaci so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami nedokážu prekonať z dôvodu svojho postihnutia sú nasledovné: žiak sa nemôže pohybovať samostatne z dôvodu imobility, žiak sa nemôže pohybovať samostatne z dôvodu mentálneho postihnutia - nepredvídaným správaním môže ublížiť sebe alebo spolužiakom, žiak nedokáže vykonávať zadané úlohy pri výchove a vzdelávaní samostatne, žiak nedokáže samostatne vykonávať sebaobslužné a hygienické potreby. U žiakov s autizmom a ďalšími vývinovými poruchami sa jedná hlavne o pomoc pri vytvorení pocitu bezpečia v školskom prostredí. Asistent učiteľa pomôže žiakovi zabezpečiť štrukturalizáciu a vizualizáciu sociálnych situácii, prostredia, času a úloh, aby žiak mohol vo výchovno-vzdelávacom procese zažívať úspech a plnil zadané úlohy s minimálnym afektívnym a problémovým správaním.
