Obiectivele majore ale UAT Drobeta Turnu Severin au ca scop dezvoltarea urbei pe multiple planuri, dar cu prioritate pe acele planuri care aduc o creştere a nivelului de trai şi implicit o îmbunătăţire a calităţii vieţii locuitorilor ei. Dezvoltarea infrastructurii sportive si de agrement, reprezintă o parte componentă a planului de creştere a calităţii vieţii cetăţenilor urbei. Obiectivul general al proiectului consta in imbunatatirea regenerarii fizice, economice si sociale a comunitatilor marginalizate in municipiile resedinta de judet din Romania. Acest obiectiv vizeaza, printr-o abordare complexa, rezolvarea problemelor de infrastructura, sociale si economice concentrate in anumite zone din interiorul oraselor, defavorizate si marginalizate, in scopul de a promova incluziunea sociala a populatiei marginalizate. Se vor rezolva urmatoarele probleme identificate: - Lipsa de locuri de joaca in imediata apropiere; - Lipsa unei zone de agrement in cartier; - Existenta unui spatiu public inestetic, fara utilizare ; - Nevoia de a mari suprafetele verzi in municipiu; - Nefolosirea la capacitate maxima a potentialului de recreere din zona . Se urmareste stimularea petrecerii a cat mai mult timp in aer liber si promovarea miscarii si sportului in randul tuturor categoriilor de varsta. (Romanian)

The main objectives of the Drobeta Turnu Severin ATU aim to develop the city on multiple levels, but with priority on those plans that bring an increase in the standard of living and thus an improvement in the quality of life of its inhabitants. The development of sports and leisure infrastructure is a part of the plan to increase the quality of life of the citizens of the city. The general objective of the project is to improve the physical, economic and social regeneration of marginalised communities in the counties of Romania. This objective aims, through a complex approach, to solve infrastructure, social and economic problems concentrated in certain areas within cities, disadvantaged and marginalised, in order to promote the social inclusion of the marginalised population. The following identified problems will be solved: — Lack of playgrounds in close proximity; — The lack of a leisure area in the neighborhood; The existence of an unsightly public space, without use; — The need to increase the green areas in the municipality; — Failure to use at maximum capacity the recreation potential in the area. The aim is to stimulate the party as much as possible in the open air and to promote movement and sport among all age groups. (English)
