The general objective of the project is to improve the quality of recreational services and to offer the opportunity to spend quality free time by setting up a youth center and by arranging a park in the city of Târgu Bujor, in Galati County, South-East Development Region. The aim of this project is to improve the quality of life in the youth community, by creating the necessary conditions for the development of human capital and social integration of the young population aged 2 to 24. Therefore, the general objective of the project is in line with the specific objective 13.1 “Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania”. The integrated approach through the construction of the youth center addressed especially to vulnerable groups and the arrangement of the park in Târgul Bujor city is the fact that several requirements and needs of the population on the recreational side will be solved simultaneously. The project aims to stimulate the involvement of young people in recreational activities that will contribute to the development of interpersonal relationships, building social skills and developing the capacity for social integration, especially of people coming from vulnerable groups. According to the National Strategy on Social Inclusion and Saracy Reduction for 2015-2020, the main vulnerable groups in Romania are poor people, children and young people deprived of parental care and support, elderly people alone or dependent, Roma, people with disabilities and people living in marginalised communities. Thus, the main goal of the youth center is to make equal opportunities a reality for all young people from Târgu Bujor and especially those belonging to vulnerable groups. All young people, but especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, need help to accumulate knowledge and skills that will enable them to live a productive and successful life, stay healthy, learn, get a job and participate fully in society. Young people often lack knowledge and skills to deal with risks and make informed decisions. That is why it is extremely important to develop such centres in small towns like Târgu Bujor. Accurate and reliable information is equally important for the evolution of young people. The difficulties and changes related to the transition period have had a major impact on young people. Young people have the same rates of poverty, unemployment and migration, or even higher rates than among the general population. In order to realise their full potential and meet the challenges of everyday life, young people need knowledge, skills and experience. However, such opportunities are often lacking. Obiectivul general al proiectului este acela de a îmbunătăți calitatea serviciilor recreative și de a oferi posibilitatea de a petrece un timp liber de calitate prin înființarea unui centru de tineret și prin amenajarea unui parc în orașul Târgu Bujor, din județul Galați, Regiunea de Dezvoltare Sud-Est. Scopul prezentului proiect este de a îmbunătăți calitatea vieții în comunitatea de tineri, prin crearea condițiilor necesare dezvoltarii capitalului uman si a integrarii sociale a populatiei tinere cu varste intre 2 si 24 de ani. Prin urmare, obiectivul general al proiectului este în concordanță cu obiectivul specific 13.1 “Îmbunătățirea calității vieții populației în orașele mici și mijlocii din România”. Abordarea integrată prin construirea centrului de tineret adresat in special grupurilor vulnerabile și amenajarea parcului din orașul Târgul Bujor este reprezentată de faptul că se vor solutiona simultan mai multe cerințe și necesități ale populației pe parte recreationala. Prin proiect se urmareste stimularea implicarii tinerilor in activitatile recreative care vor contribui la dezvoltarea relatiilor interpersonale, construirea de abilitati sociale si dezvoltarea capacitatii de integrare sociala, in special al persoanelor provenind din grupurile vulnerabile. Conform Strategiei Nationale privind Incluziunea Sociala si Reducerea Saraciei pentru perioada 2015 – 2020, principalele grupuri vulnerabile din România sunt persoanele sarace, copiii și tinerii lipsiți de îngrijire și sprijin parental, persoanele vârstnice singure sau dependente, romii, persoanele cu dizabilitati si persoanele care traiesc în comunitați marginalizate. Astfel, principalul scop al centrului de tineret este ca egalitatea de şanse să devină realitate pentru toţi tinerii din orasul Târgu Bujor si in special cei care fac parte din grupurile vulnerabile. Toți tinerii, dar în special cei care fac parte din categoria grupurilor vulnerabile au nevoie de ajutor pentru a acumula cunoștințe și deprinderi ce le vor permite să trăiască o viață productivă și plină de realizări, să rămână sănătoși, să învețe, să obțină un loc de muncă și să participe pe deplin la viața societății. Tinerilor le lipsesc adesea cunoştinţele şi deprinderile de a face faţă riscurilor şi a lua decizii informate. Iată de ce este extrem de importantă dezvoltarea unor astfel de centre în orașe mici precum este Târgu Bujor. La fel de importante pentru evoluţia tinerilor sunt şi informaţiile corecte şi sigure. Dificultăţile şi schimbările legate de perioada de tranziţie au avut un impact major asupra tinerilor. În rândul tinerilor se înregistrează aceleaşi rate de sărăcie, şomaj şi migraţie sau chiar rate mai înalte decât printre populaţia generală. Pentru a-şi realiza pe deplin potenţialul şi pentru a putea face faţă provocărilor vieţii cotidiene, tinerii au nevoie de cunoştinţe, deprinderi şi experienţă.
